Try a Tanka
Use your class notes from today to write a tanka of your own!
Today we began to build our poems by framing them around a situation, the emotions associated with it, and images to develop those emotions.
Write your tanka using the image that best conveys the emotions related to that situation. Write the situation at the beginning of your tanka.
Remember:
an image that expresses strong emotion
five lines
unrhymed
31 syllables [lines 1 and 3 are five syllables each; 2, 4 & 5 lines are seven syllables each]
