Project Poe
Project: Allegory
Choose any two of the seven topics and create a mask for each one. Your mask should represent the allegorical meaning of the topic within “Masque of the Red Death.” Refer to the story for ideas to represent in your mask.

Masked Guest
Each mask should be original, creative, colorful, and reflect your topic’s allegorical meaning. Write your name and period on the back of your masks.
Suggested materials: glitter, paint, feathers, pompoms, shaped confetti, jewels, etc.
Masks are worth 16 pts each. You will be graded on timeliness, following directions, effort, and creativity.
BONUS: Do a third mask for up to 16 pts. extra credit!
Masks are due by Wednesday, May 25, 2011!

Titanic Project ...and Extra Credit
A reminder that your Titanic Project deadline has been extended to Dec. 27. Please remember to use my login information for Prezi, and to share your Google Presentation with me!
You should have quotes from Titanic with page numbers and photos from your tragedy/disaster that correspond with each quote. Don't forget your title [with your names, period, and date] and the summary slide that explains how each tragic event (Titanic and ___) shows the unchanging element of human nature during disasters!

Be an investigative reporter! Research the facts about the Titanic, and compare the facts with Baldwin's inaccuracies in a report. You can make it as creative as you'd like. Be sure to type 400-600 words, and explain how Baldwin's inaccuracies and his subjective writing harm his credibility as a journalist.
Submit anytime this break via email, or bring in your hard copy Jan. 3!
